The Occasion Company is committed to making our website usable by everyone, including people with disabilities. We design and build with accessibility in mind from the start, and we treat it as an ongoing responsibility, not a one-time checkbox.

Our standard

We follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA as our target standard. This is the internationally recognized benchmark for web accessibility.

What we do

Alt text on images. Every meaningful image on our site includes descriptive alternative text so screen reader users get the same information.
Keyboard navigation. All interactive elements (menus, forms, popups, toggles) can be reached and operated with a keyboard alone. Focus indicators are visible.
Color contrast. Text meets WCAG AA contrast ratios against its background, so content stays readable for people with low vision or color blindness.
Screen reader compatibility. We use semantic HTML, proper heading structure, labeled form fields, and ARIA attributes where needed so assistive technology can interpret our pages correctly.
Readable type. We use legible fonts at comfortable sizes with generous line spacing, and text can be resized up to 200% without breaking the layout.
No seizure triggers. We avoid flashing content and respect reduced-motion preferences where applicable.

When we build a wedding or event website for you, we apply the same principles: alt text on your photos, readable contrast, keyboard-friendly navigation, and mobile-friendly layouts. If you have specific accessibility needs for your guests, tell us in your intake form and we will accommodate them.

Accessibility is never finished. We review our site regularly, test with keyboard-only navigation and screen readers, and fix issues as we find them. If something is not working for you, we want to know.

Lo que hacemos

Texto alternativo en imágenes. Cada imagen importante incluye una descripción para que los lectores de pantalla transmitan la misma información.
Navegación por teclado. Todos los elementos interactivos (menús, formularios, ventanas, interruptores) se pueden usar solo con el teclado. Los indicadores de enfoque son visibles.
Contraste de color. El texto cumple con los niveles de contraste WCAG AA para que siga siendo legible para personas con baja visión o daltonismo.
Compatibilidad con lectores de pantalla. Usamos HTML semántico, estructura correcta de encabezados, campos etiquetados y atributos ARIA donde se necesitan.
Tipografía legible. Usamos fuentes claras en tamaños cómodos con buen interlineado, y el texto se puede ampliar hasta 200% sin romper el diseño.
Sin destellos. Evitamos contenido parpadeante y respetamos las preferencias de movimiento reducido.
